  1. Evaluation Question 3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

  2. The type of media institution that would distribute my magazine would be Bauer Media as it distributes similar genres to mine. Bauer Media reaches over 22 million people in the UK every week through a ‘portfolio of world-class, multi-platform media and entertainment brands’. They publish Q magazine which is of a similar genre to my product, giving the audience the latest on their favourite indie bands. As Bauer Media publish such a successful magazine as Q, I think they would be a good company for my product judging by the success of their clients. I am also confident that the company would be able to sell my product successfully as it has a huge audience it can reach. Bauer Media also has Kiss 100 as a client, this is a well known radio station which could be used to advertise my magazine to bring in buyers.   3. Another media institution that could distribute my product is TimeInc.UK formerly known as IPC Media. It is one of the worlds leading media companies ‘with a monthly global print audience of over 120 million’ . It distributes and controls the advertising of NME magazine which again is a magazine known world wide. I could trust TimeInc.UK to successfully sell my magazine by reaching a massive audience, they also specialise in marketing and advertising which means that I wouldn’t have to go to another institution to do these for me. However, NME isn’t the same genre as mine which suggests that TimeInc.UK may not be able to sell my magazine as it is indie when NME is rock.   4. Although, TimeInc.UK has better connections in marketing and advertising it also has a bigger audience that it reaches. I think Bauer Media would be better for my specific product as it still reaches a large audience of 22 million people a week, I am also confident it would be able to sell my magazine as it has produced a successful magazine like Q which is the exact same genre as mine.
