WALT • We Are Learning To: • Improve our writing by using conjunctions. • Practise cutting food up using our knowledge of fractions • Keep our minds healthy and relaxed English Select one task to complete: Write an exciting action scene in your homework book. Underline or highlight all of the verbs that you use. 2. When reading this week keep an eye out for any conjunctions. Write down 5 sentences and highlight the conjunction used in each one. • Spelling • Choose an activity from the • Super Star Spelling Tasks for Term 4 • to learn your spelling words. Grade 2 HomeworkDue Date: Wednesday 6th November 2013Please remember to write which activity you have completed in your homework book and have your parents sign it.Please ask your teacher for support if you are unsure of something. • Maths • Select one task to complete: • 1. Order these fractions from smallest to largest. Draw a picture to represent each fraction. ½, ¼, ¾, 1/8, 5/8. • OR • Practise cutting your food into fractions. For example, cut apples and oranges into quarters, pizzas into eighths, potatoes in halves, sandwiches into different shaped quarters. Discuss your knowledge of fractions with family. • My Spelling Words • Are in my diary, or my lunchbox if I forgot my diary on Monday. Personal Learning Select one task to complete: Keep a log of your bedtime and get-up time each day. Can you work out how long you spend in bed each night, and do you get enough sleep? Grade Two students need around 10 hours sleep each night! 2. We have had a lot of kinder children getting ready for prep at our school. Write down two hot tips that you can give to them about what to expect at school. Some suggested ideas could be: getting organised, making friends, how to learn and getting along with others.
