  1. Welcome to Year 6Meet the teachersat7p.m. – 7.40p.m. Wickham Common Primary School Mr Bateson, Mrs Horscroft and Mrs Stevenson

Outline of the Year 6 curriculum for the Autumn Term 2013 • Literacy: Includes writing/reading/speaking and listening/drama as well as phonics/spellings/handwriting/grammar /punctuation • Maths: number, using and applying, shape, measure and data handling (problem solving and games) • Science: (remember Sc1 investigation skills)

  3. Autumn Term curriculum 2013 • PSHE/SEAL • MFL • PE • Music • History • Geography • Art and Design • RE • ICT • Full curriculum topics are available on the Year 6 newsletter.

  4. How you can support your child with learning at home: • Planners – please read and sign each weekend • Website – home learning (set on Fridays) • Visits – library, museums, etc., TFL to visit Y6 - 7th Oct. Kent Life trip on October 17th Hindleap Meeting 10th Oct. Christmas performance 16th Dec.

  5. Behaviour and attendance • Golden rules • Golden points/house points • Attendance – notes for absence • Year 6 Monitors and responsibilities

  6. Uniform and equipment • Items of uniform to be named - listed on school website • PE kit required – Y6 hockey on Fridays p.m. • Other school equipment recommended: Small pencil case with an appropriate pen.

  7. Thank you for coming! • Individual 10 minute appointments at Open Evenings on Tuesday 22nd October 5 – 8p.m. or Wednesday 23rd October 4 -7p.m.
