Proposed Constitutional Provision • Right to health, medical and health care shall belong to every citizen of Tanzania and shall be organized through a national health system • The State shall take legislative measures, to achieve the progressive realization, promotion and protection of each of these rights • The State shall promote qualitable expansion of medical and health care and equal access of all citizens to the enjoyment of this right. • It shall be the duty of the state to promote, supervise and control the production, the sale and the use of chemical, biological and pharmaceutical products and other forms of treatment and diagnosis.

Cont….. • No one may be refused emergency medical treatment • Every Citizen has a right to appropriate food, clean and safe water. • It shall be in the obligation of every person and state organ to protect citizen rights to health and health care. • State shall domesticate ratified International treaties that promotes and protects the right to health.
