Meet Miss Hanson • Hello everyone! This is my first year of teaching and I am so happy to be your child’s kindergarten teacher.
Educational Background • I graduated from the University of Montana with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education. • My B.A. degree has a special focus on communicative sciences and disorders as I eventually hope to go to graduate school to become a speech language pathologist. • Upon receiving my M.A. I hope to work in schools with children who are faced with speech and language issues.
What do I do for fun? • I enjoy running, reading and playing with my two dogs, Meeko and Molly.
My goals for this new school year: • To educate with a teaching style that is personalized to each of my students’ learning styles. • To inspire my students to love learning. • To keep learning myself; from my students, other teachers and outside sources such as books and peer-reviewed journal articles. • To stay positive, have fun and remember why I chose to teach.
My background working with young people • Numerous years of babysitting experience. • Three years of teaching vacation bible school. • Two years of working with a high school youth group. • Three years of childcare experience in a fitness center; this included hosting children’s birthday parties! • Five years of supervising the church nursery.
Why do I want to teach? • My mom, Kathy, inspired me to be a teacher. She is also a kindergarten teacher. • She once told me, “Everyone, no matter who they are or what they become, had a teacher that encouraged them and inspired them.”
Why I want to teach • I have always loved children and truly believe they are a wonderful gift. • As a teacher I feel privileged to work with your children to help educate, shape and inspire them to be their best. • I have the best job!
