is a short range wireless connectivity technology standard • Based on RFID, makes use of interacting electromagnetic radio fields • NFC is completely effort-free, requiring nothing more than a tap • Consumes a mere 15 mA of power (nothing for today's smartphone abatteries)
Though NFC is based on RFID but the difference between them is very crucial NFC RFID VS
VS NFC • NFC Tags are very well defined, but can be considered as a special form of RFID strict specifications that allow them to be used in an open context. • NFC has three modes i- tag read/write ii- tag emulation iii- P2P data transfer RFID • It’s a broad term covering different types of chip and antenna. The radio frequencies, reading distance and data encoding methods of the chip can vary enormously. • RFI has only one mode of operation
