NEXCOM • The program to address NAS domestic A/G communications for voice and data • The FAA established the NEXCOM Program in May 1998 • NEXCOM Program • is fully funded + • must address the spectrum congestion • US community supports • approved to implement VDL Mode 3 as the technological solution to spectrum congestion • currently acquiring a Multi-Mode radio • FAA Administrator asked the community for input on the current path • established NEXCOM Aviation Rules Committee (NARC) • Information has not been provided to the FAA or administrator • Due to FAA administrator in May 2001
