History Discovery On 1613, Galileo Galilei saw Neptune by telescope. After discovered Uranus, astronauts were having trouble figuring out the orbit. They thought there is another planet further away than Uranus. French astronomer Liverier and English astronomer John Couch Adams guessed the math calculations of where Neptune must be. This, called “Great Dark Spot” was similar to the “Great Red Spot” On Jupiter. But in 1994, the Hubble Space Telescope found that the Great Dark spot had Vanished.
