ALLUSION • Reference to a well-known person, place, event, literary work, or work of art
HYPERBOLE • Deliberate exaggeration or overstatement
SIMILE • Comparison between two unlike things using like, as, than, or resembles • Ex. Faster than a speeding bullet
FORESHADOWING • Use of clues that suggest events that have yet to occur • Creates suspense
BLANK VERSE • Iambic pentameter • Form of poetry • Does not rhyme • 10 syllables per line • Syllables follow an alternating unstressed-stressed pattern • Used for important characters
