Vision vs. Mission • The vision is the overall goal of our school. • What is the future we want to createfor our school? • In our district, we have a shared vision. • The mission is how we plan to meet that goal. • What will we do to ensure that we create that future? • At Rock Hill High we have a school-specific mission.

  4. RHHS Mission Statement • The Rock Hill High School community works to provide a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment in which each student chooses a unique path to success in a global society.

  5. RHHS Mission Revision Purpose : • To discuss the wording and examine the various interpretations of the phrasing of the mission statement to reveal differences in stakeholders’ interpretations of the terminology used.

  6. RHHS Mission Revision Purpose • To rewrite and/or update the mission to reflect the beliefs of the organization, in the event that those beliefs have changed over time.

  7. RHHS Mission Revision And then… • The rewritten statement will be submitted to the School Improvement Council (SIC) who will review the suggestions of the group and either accept or reject the new version of the mission statement.
