One day a group of elves gathered under the old oak tree in the woods. “I have spent my entire life as a shoemaker,” said one elf. “So have I,” said another. “But we never get to see people wearing our shoes.” The elves decided to take a trip to the city. In a flash they were on a city street. They saw lots of people wearing shoes they had made from soft brown leather. They looked beautiful. All the elves agreed that they made the finest shoes in the world.
