2007 year strategy Colombia must define a road map for the medium and long terms, to allow ICT to contribute to the transformation of the social, economic and political life of the country July 2007 The President announces the ICT National Plan July – November 2007 First phase: Participative process trough meetings with groups of different sectors and regions Bogotá, Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla and Bucaramanga Virtual forum where all the citizens could participate February 2008 ICT National Plan document February – April 2008 Second phase: Participative process using Internet. ICT National Plan Mission To make a leap forward in social inclusion and competitiveness of the country through the use and appropriation of ICT, in everyday life as well as in productive uses of citizens, companies, the academy and the Government.

Where are we today • All the programs in execution with good results • Defining the monitoring system of the (Plan Methodology: Balanced Score Card) • Strategic map of the ICT National Plan and of action lines • Control tables with objectives, programs, indicators, goals and institution in charge
Lessons learned with the process First adjustment of the ICT National Plan with the participation of the leaders of different programs Appropriation by the leaders of the programs They found that they are doing much more than they promised at the beginning, in terms of ICT infrastructure, incentive and training of human resources, creating contents and developing more effective processes supported with ICT They undertook together the alignment of indicators to obtain and realize on the importance of cross sectors support to fulfill the objectives and reach the goals They realize that together they can obtain much more than with the sum of their parts
