Location and distances Thecommune of Łapy is situated in the eastern part of Poland in the Podlaskie voivodship. Białystok (the voivodship capital ) – 25 km, 20 min. by car and 15 min. by train. Closest airports: WARSAW( AIRPORT) - 160 km KAUNAS, Lithuania – 269 km WILNIUS, Lithuania – 330 km Closest harbour: Gdańsk – 408 km
Rail transport Łapy’s great asset is the railway system. Łapy is situated on the route of international railway line E 75 Warsaw – Białystok – Sokółka – Suwałki – Trakiszki – national border, which is part of Corridor I, called Rail Baltica, connectng Helsinki with Warsaw, via Tallin, Riga and Kaunas.
Road transport Motorway/national road: National road no.8 and European route E 67 connecting Central Europe with Scandinavia run about 20 km from Łapy, in Jeżewo. Road S 19, the Białystok ring road (currently at investment planning stage), will run about 15 km from Łapy. Subzone Łapy, Tarnobrzeg SpecialEconomicZone (TSSE) The commune of Łapy cooperates with the Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone (TSSE) which is administered by the Industrial Development Agency in Warsaw (Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A.). In 2012 investors will have access to deveoped building lots in the Subzone Łapy TSSE. Total area: 11,96 ha The area will be divided into 9 building lots of investments, around 1 ha each. Purpose: industry, depots, services, storehouses Description: electricity, gas, water, sewage system, internal roads Transport accessibility: The area borders with the poviat road 1524B Łapy - Łynki – Łapy-Dębowina, A7 m wide crossroad with road 1521B, with bituminous surface. Nature, tourism and leisure The commune of Łapy has excellent natural values that complement the offer for investors. A considerable part of the area is in the Narwiański National Park and its buffer zone,which is not an obstacle to investment. The Narew river, known as the Polish Amazonia, forms unique broads around Łapy. A comprehensive tourist-leisure centre contruction project is under way in łapy with the use of EU funds (a swimming pool with sports facilities, gym, small catering, sports equipment, rental shops and accommodation).
