  1. ERASMUS: Madrid

  2. Universidad Europea de Madrid Villaviciosa de Odón. South West of Madrid, 25 minutes from the city. International University- lots of different nationalities and international students On campus: gym, swimming pool, tennis courts and running track. Classes: between 8.30 am – 9.30pm. Huge range of classes available from Spanish culture to marketing and tourism classes. Is a very practical university: lots of field trips. We visited the Danone factory and some big hotels around the city for projects.

  3. Accommodation Stayed in the town beside University. Was a lot cheaper and you get more for your money e.g: we had a swimming pool and a nice garden There were advantages and disadvantages to living outside of the city. Really good links to the city- buses every 10 minutes and there are night buses until 5 am! Student accommodation at the university is 1000 euro a month, we paid 300 euros a month. You can find apartments on the internet but is easier to just go there and find one as lots of advertisements posted in newspapers, bus stops and the university can help. Living costs similar to Glasgow city centre.

  4. What to do in your free time… The best part of Erasmus experience. Madrid has so much to offer. Is a large city so there is always things going on every night, never quiet. Warner Bros theme park, Bernabeu stadium, sightseeing:the palace. Bull-fighting, El Retiro, el Prado and museo Reina Sofia Lots of opportunities to travel: we went to Valencia, Granada, Mallorca and Asturias. Nightlife is amazing, always something going on. Huge range of bars, restaurants and clubs. Main clubs: Pachaand Kapital. Joy and Orange café: Erasmus nights and discounts. Learn Spanish.
