  3. Denny Middle/Sealth HS (SW) • ‘Fieldturf’-brand • Fields completed 2004 & 05 • Pallets of pellets, equipment for ‘overseeding’ rubber • Rubber pellets migrate onto sidewalk • Giant field complex completely locked to kids & public after school

  4. Salmon Bay School (NW) • Tarkett/Prestige brand • Installed 2007 • Pellets migrate onto concrete ring, down sidewalk

  5. Loyal Heights Playfield (NW) • ‘Fieldturf’-brand • Installed 2006/07 • Heavily pellet application runs onto utility covers and into city drainage

  6. Roosevelt High School (NE) • ‘A Turf’ brand • Installed 2006 • Football/soccer field is surrounded by concrete drainage moat, interspersed with sewage drains

  7. Roosevelt, continued • Pellets fill moat, go down drain

  8. Whitman Middle School (NW) • ‘Sprinturf’ brand • Installed 2007 • School still using portable classrooms, but has new artificial fields

  10. Rubber pellets on the field = rubber pellets in the Sound • The nature of plastic and rubber fields require substantial maintenance, including regular application of rubber pellets
