Meet Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout, the girl who refused to take out the garbage until it was too late! This humorous yet thought-provoking poem by Shel Silverstein highlights the importance of waste disposal and caring for our environment. Pope Francis' words resonate as we see the consequences of neglecting environmental responsibility. Let's remember Sarah Stout's fate and the impact of unchecked waste accumulation. It's time to take action and prioritize proper waste management for a cleaner, healthier planet.

Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would not take the garbage out By Shel Silverstein
At last the garbage reached so high That finally It touched The Sky,
And finally Sarah Cynthia Stout • Said “Okay, I’ll take the garbage out!”
But then of course it was too late, • The garbage reached across the state, • From New York to the Golden Gate;
And there in the garbage she did hate • Poor Sarah met an awful fate • That I cannot right here relate • Because the hour is much too late • But children, remember Sarah Stout, • And always take the garbage out.
So what is the takeaway message? • Pope Francis said: The Earth, our home, is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth. In many parts of the planet, the elderly lament that once beautiful landscapes are now covered with rubbish. Industrial waste and chemical products utilised in cities and agricultural areas can lead to bioaccumulation in the organisms of the local population, even when levels of toxins in those places are low. Frequently no measures are taken until after people’s health has been irreversibly affected.
