  1. Molecular & Formula Mass Worksheet - Key Calculate the molecular mass of each of the following molecular compounds.

  2. 4(H) + 2(C) + 2(O) = 4(1.0) + 2(12.0) + 2(16.0) = 4.0 + 24.0 + 32.0 = 60.0 amu

  3. 5(C) + 10(H) + 2(N) + 3(O) = 5(12.0) + 10(1.0) + 2(14.0) + 3(16.0) = 60.0 + 10.0 + 28.0 + 48.0 = 146.0 amu

  4. A 10(C) + 15(H) + 2(Br) + 3(Cl) = 10(12.0) + 15(1.0) + 2(79.9) + 3(35.5) = 120.0 + 15.0 + 159.8 + 106.5 = 401.3 amu

  5. 2(Cu) + (C) + 5(O) + 2(H) = 2(63.5) + (12.0) + 5(16.0) + 2(1.0) = 127.0 + 12.0 + 80.0 + 2.0 = 221.0 amu

  6. 2(Na) + 8(O) + 2(S) = 2(23.0) + 8(16.0) + 2(32.1) = 46.0 + 128.0 + 64.2 = 238.2 amu

  7. 5(H) + (K) + 12(O) + (S) + 2(U) = 5(1.0) + (39.1) + 12(16.0) + (32.1) + 2(238.0) = 5.0 + 39.1 + 192.0 + 32.1 + 476.0 = 744.2 amu
