DURATION OF STUDY Number of subjects taken per semester Full Time: Minimum 3 credits ; Maximum - 20 credits Part Time: Minimum 3 credits ; Maximum - 12 credits
Important information Registration of subjects • Registration of subjects or research must be done online every semester. • Registration of subjects or research must be done within the dates set by SPS. Failure to do so can lead to a dismissal from the programme. • Students who fail the programme (KG) in the first semester can apply for re-registration (KGDS) but subjects taken in the first semester are not transferable (students must re-take all the subjects).

Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) (MPPZ) - MIXED MODE Dissertation’s Requirement • Students must complete all core subjects before registering for dissertation. • Students must refer to the dissertation code guideline every semester when registering for dissertation. • Students must submit the Progress Report via GSMS every semester starting the semester you register for dissertation. • Students must present a proposal orally to internal examiners by the following deadlines: • 2nd semester (Full Time) • 3rd semester (Part Time) • Students must sit for a viva-voce after completing the dissertation.

Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) (PPPZ) - PhD Thesis’s Requirement • Students must register the right research code every semester starting semester one. • Students must submit a Progress report for every semester via GSMS. • Students must present a proposal to 2 internal examiners by the following deadline: • 3rd semester (Full Time) • 5th semester (Part Time) • Students must submit a NOTICE FOR THESIS SUBMISSION 3 months prior to thesis submission. • Students must sit for a Viva voce (1 internal and 1 external examiners) after submitting the thesis. • Students must publish ONE article in a refereed journal before being considered for viva.

Additional Courses for Students without Education degree/PG Diploma Pre-requisite Subjects Students must take the following additional subjects within their study period • LPP 1113 : Education Foundations I • LPP 1123: Education Foundations II • LPP 1133 : Education Foundations III • It is advisable that students take these subjects as early as possible.

Hardcopies of the forms are also available at the faculty academic office. • Give the faculty an active email address/phone no. • The faculty will contact students via email/phone for urgent matters only.
