  1. Types of Dental Waxes

  2. Types of Dental Waxes There are two types ● ● Natural Synthetic Natural waxes are found in minerals, plants, and ants. Synthetic waxes are of many types, such as Polyethylene waxes, Polyoxyethylene glycol waxes, Halogenated hydrocarbon waxes, Hydrogenated waxes, and others obtained from the reaction of fatty alcohols and acids

  3. Properties of Dental Waxes Properties of dental waxes include Melting range, Thermal expansion, Thermal conductivity, Residual stress, Ductility, Malleability, Modulus of elasticity, proportional limit, and compressive strength. Uses of Dental Waxes Waxes, in general, are thermoplastic that melts at high temperatures and hence are easily moldable. This characteristic of waxes has helped in dentistry to make patterns for prostheses. Although waxes behave similarly in different temperatures, there are numerous types of dental waxes used for various purposes in dental practice. Depending on the use of dental waxes, there are three types of dental waxes used. See more: Types of dental waxes
