  2. Purpose of Baptism • To be saved • Mark 16:16 • For remission of sins • Acts 2:36-38; 22:16 • Put one "in Christ" • Galatians 3:27 • Put one into "one body" • 1 Corinthians 12:13

  3. Those Who Do Not Need To • Those Unable to believe or repent • Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38 • Infants • Mentally handicapped • Those baptized scripturally and sin afterwards • Acts 8:22

  4. Those Who Do Need To • Those outside of Christ • Ephesians 2:12,13 cf. Galatians 3:27 • Romans 6:3 • Those baptized for wrong purpose • Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; 19:5 • Those baptized into wrong body • 1 Corinthians 12:13

  5. What Must I Do To Be Saved? • Hear the gospel (Rom. 10:17) • Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37) • Repent of your sins (Luke 13:3) • Confess your faith (Mt. 10:32) • Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38) • Faithful unto death (Rev. 2:10)
