You are on a panel of Synergy 8 students presenting to the current seventh grade class. They are thinking about registering for Synergy 8 next year. Your job is to explain in detail ONE major thing you learned with some evidence of HOW you learned this important lesson.
Synergy 8 is a class where you discuss problems in school or outside of school in the community, and you take those problems and you gather data and try and work to find a solution to help better Westminster and the community.
In Synergy8 we have been working on numerous projects and brainstorming in groups; but what good is all that work if it is not presented well to an audience?
Problem solving is the most important thing that I learned during Synergy 8.
In Synergy 8, the most valuable thing that I learned, was that team work is a key tool to success.
The most important thing I learned in Synergy8 is that without communication nothing is achieved.
Teamwork, it may seem like an easy word to understand. Working with a team... but we learned that it is far more than just that.
I used to look at problems and think that someone needed to find a solution, but I never considered that I could be that person. Now I look at a problem, and I think about how a solution could be facilitated.
Looking back as an experienced Synergy 8 student, my improvement in writing is the most apparent.
An essential learning that I have grown in over the course of this semester is different ways of identifying and solving ideas.
Throughout this entire semester of Synergy 8, I have learned many life lessons, one of the biggest being prototyping and taking steps towards the end product.
During my semester in Synergy 8 I learned the power of collaboration, collective ideas, and prototyping; life lessons that will stay with me and benefit me when completing future projects.
I have learned many skills not only for the classroom but also for life from my experience in Synergy 8, yet my biggest take away is that the journey to any place or in anything I do is just as important as the destination.
My time in Synergy 8 has increased my ability to create and collaborate as a team by doing teambuilding activities, preparing to present as a team, and by making decisions as a team.
In Synergy 8, I have learned that great ideas do not just come to people, great ideas come from smaller ideas that work together to become great.
Throughout the Synergy 8 course, the essential learning I have grown in most is in Communication and Collaboration.
During this past semester in Synergy 8, I continued to learn many different concepts, especially Problem and Solution ID.
Throughout the coarse of Synergy 8 I have learned many new skills, but one that really sticks out is how to edit a piece of writing, throughly editing our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd interim progress reports, our newsletter, proposals, and other writing pieces helped me learn this lesson.
The reason why you should take synergy 8 next year is because synergy gives you an opportunity to work and communicate with people that you might not have worked with previously and it teaches you to listen to people with different opinions and ideas of you.
Through activities such as the Marshmallow Challenge, and our team projects, I learned the importance of prototyping and revising throughout Synergy8.
What I have learned through Synergy is the ability to find a proven solution to a problem and adapt it to solve a different problem.
Throughout my time in synergy, I have greatly improved my problem solving skills and abilities.
