  1. Do people use their android devices on its full potential?A research Chua,Sharmaine I. BSIT 3-1

  2. Rationale • Specifically, the study aims to answer the following: • 1. Do people (people like students, employees, housewives) really maximize (Maximize meaning using the smartphones not just for texting, calling, alarm clocks) the full potential of their Android Devices? • 2. If yes, why do people maximize their Android devices? How and in what way do these people maximize their Android devices? • 3. What are the advantages of customizing (rooting, flashing custom roms, applying tweaks) your Android device? • 4. What are the dangers of customizing (rooting, flashing custom roms, applying tweaks) your Android device

  3. Related literature • According to Scott Webster in his article entitled “Hack your Android like a pro: Rooting and ROMs explained‟ posted at the website reviews.cnet.com, rooting, in a nutshell, is the process that provides users with full administrator control and access to an Android smartphone or tablet. Similar to "jailbreaking" an iOS device, this is often done in order to bypass carrier or handset-maker limitations or restrictions. Once you achieve "root access," you can replace or alter applications and system settings, run specialized apps, and more.

  4. ANALYSIS AND FINDINGS • ROOTING • Advantages • Rooting allows you to have root access • Rooting allows you to flash custom ROMs • Rooting allows you to install special applications • Rooting allows you to transfer files or applications from Internal Memory to External Memory(Micro SD Card) • Rooting allows you to remove bloatwares or unwanted applications • Rooting also allows you to back up your files by using an application called Titanium Backup Disadvantages • Rooting voids warranty • Rooting might brick your Android device • Rooting also increases the risk of security infiltrations

  5. RESULTs

  6. Conclusion and recommendation • Rooting an Android device is a tricky but rewarding thing to do. It has its advantages and disadvantages. But in reality, advantages of rooting overpowers its disadvantages. • Just always keep in mind that if you’ll root your Android, always follow and perform the correct way of rooting.
