Sample layout for 80x120cm poster: Typing instructions for the Small Water & Wastewater Systems and Sludge Management 2013 G. R. Xu *,C. D. Flesch* and E. Fowle** (Sample) *School of Municipal and Environmental Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, P.O Box 2602, Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China (E-mail: xgr@hit.edu.cn) ** Bodgett & Billham plc, Hamilton House, Hangover Square, London NC1 4TS, UK (E-mail: birdie@walford.cotton.co.uk) Your Photograph Introduction These are instructions for authors typesetting for the Small Water & Wastewater Systems and Sludge Management 2013 to be held in Harbin, on October 28-30 2013. The poster presentation stands by itself as a summary of research and usually contains an overview of research objectives, experimental methods, materials, results and a discussion. This document has been prepared using the required format. The electronic copy of this document can be found at: www.iwasmallwater2013.org.cn / The organisers of this conference are committed to providing a high-calibre program and urge you to consider the preparation of your poster carefully. You are encouraged to make full use of your available space.Posters are not intended as a mechanism for advertising products or services. Posters consisting of commercial brochures describing products or services or that are not of appropriate quality may be rejected on-site. Figure1: Example Photograph Figure 2: Example Photograph Results & Discussion Use Arial and font size 33 for main text (character size). Do not use bold in the main text; if you want to emphasize specific parts of the main text, use italics. Start a new paragraph by indenting it from the left margin (and not by inserting a blank line), except under a section or subsection heading. The text should be prepared with a double column format. An interested individual who is not necessarily familiar with your field of expertise should be able to follow your poster. To ensure this: ► organise the poster units in an orderly manner for a logical flow from top to bottom or left to right ► use headings and colour ► test your poster by laying it out and asking a colleague to critique it ► start the poster with a clear and concise objective. Follow this with a section on experiments or research methods as appropriate and devote the main part of the poster to your results. ► make liberal use of large photos, figures, tables, diagrams, maps etc ► do not attach typewritten sheets to the poster presentation, as it is impossible to read these from a distance All tables must be numbered consecutively (in Arabic numbers). Table headings should be placed (centered) above the table. Place tables as close as possible to where they are mentioned in the main text.
