Predict and Infer • I can predict what happens as the dragon grows up. I can infer from the cover that the dragon is young at the beginning. I think that a dragon would be harder to raise as they get older.

Drawing Conclusions • Sometimes readers draw conclusions about story events by organizing story details. Look at page 371 in your reading book. I want you to create your own chart using page 371. Draw conclusions about how Ma feels about Hank.
Suffixes –y and -ly • A suffixes is added to the end of a base word. Carefully I rolled the egg into the cave. He did have a healthy appetite! -ly means “in a certain way” -y means “full of”
