Argument • The main argument is “Can Religion Get To A Point Where It Can Have An Effect At All On Mental Health”
Agreed • The people who agree with the claims do so for mainly these reasons - Religion is seen as a way of life, not just a practice. Thus if having a effect on our everyday lives, its bound to effect us mentally in some way. - Religion also gives us a different perspective most the time on things. Seeing predicaments through a different view other than your own can effect mental health.
Key Point • Religion doesn't’t have to effect mental health in a negative way, it can be a positive influence, and sometimes cure a persons illness. In fact its been proven most religious people appreciate life more, and have more life satisfaction.
Disagreed • Reasoning for those who don’t agree • Religion and mental health are said to be different psychological processes • Mental Illness can mainly be influenced by uncommon events and actions and religion isn't one of them
What Is My Focus? • I will be providing evidence on to why I believe there to be a correlation. Even if this claim may not be true in all people, I believe those people that do incorporate religion in there daily lives In someway. Undoubtingly it has effected there mental whether good or bad. With the sources I have found thus far, there definitely is a lot of aspects to take into consideration for example gender.
