  2. Steps to Year-round Propagation • Fall is an excellent season to start propagating perennials in your garden so they’ll be hardy and large for planting out and potting up for next spring’s PHGSC’s Plant Sale. • Cool months are the easiest time to care for new plants. There are fewer bug invasions, and rain usually does the watering. The biggest chore is to protect the plants from potential frost. PHGSC’s Operation Propagation

  3. Steps to Year-round Propagation(cont.) • Drought tolerant and native plants will be more in demand in the coming years. Propagating what you have in this category would be fantastic. • Cuttings – This is still a good time of year to clip and root Salvia, Lavender, Dusty Miller, Candytuft, Plectranthus, Rosemary. 4. Steps to Year-round Propagation(cont.) • Divisions – As the weather cools down a bit in September, dig up and divide Daylily, Primrose, Shasta Daisy, bearded Iris, Agapanthus. Replant some for your use; repot excess for sale at next spring’s Plant Sale. • Collect seeds as your plants create them; plant some and share some with other club members. 5. Steps to Year-round Propagation(cont.) • Donate decorative or fancy containers to the club so they can be potted up next spring with blooming plants for the sale. Bring your containers to any meeting or call Mary Eisenhour at 939-2533. PHGSC’s Operation Propagation
