  3. Define what is proper English and when the situations of speaking proper English arises Do • ensure that SPEAKING is not the same as WRITING • choose either DISCUSSIVE or ARGUMENTATIVE formats

For : This changing world is learning English as a main language for world communication. e.g. Singapore's main administrative language is English for such purposes This changing world is becoming a global village for tourists to access the world e.g Establishes Singapore's reputation for tourists as helpful and attractive

  5. Against : the changing world is increasingly looking to China as the next economy where English is not first language the changing world is one that celebrates diversity English is not the mother tongue of many countries – it becomes mixed with local dialects e.g. Singlish

  6. Have your opinion of whether or not speaking good English is essential, especially from the point of yourself as a Singaporean.
