  4. Assyria Timeline 701 BC Assyrian Invasion Four kings of Judah are included: Uzziah (good), Jotham (OK), Ahaz (horrible), and Hezekiah (good) We are talking about Hezekiah. He was good, but flawed (like we all are).

  5. Isaiah 36-37 In this study, we will find history rather than prophecy. These are accounts of fulfillments of earlier prophecies. Let’s read these. Isaiah 10:12; 24-27 14:24-27 30:30-32 31:4-5; 8-9 God is emphatic: Egypt is not your protection, never has been. Stay. Take your punishment. A purging will occur; but you should stick it out and be part of a purified remnant. And in the end, I, the LORD, will fight against Assyria for you; and you’ll not have to worry about them any more.

  6. Isaiah 36 1Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the defenced cities of Judah, and took them. These were, principally, Bethlehem, Tekoa, Hebron, Gath and Lachish (2 Chronicles 11:5-12). The Assyrians had not yet taken Jerusalem; but they knew they were next. But don’t forget that the good part is yet to come: God promised that Assyria was going to get theirs.

  7. Isaiah 36 Vv 2-22 represent Rabshakeh, one of the great psychological warfare artists in history, plying his craft. Let’s read the whole thing.
