Artist Statement • I like to incorporate bright and fun colors into my art like I did in the tiki heads carvings. I’ve always found tiki heads and other carvings interesting and added the big teeth and lips to give it character.
Artist Statement • I tried to make the glaze more interesting by blending the colors together. I wanted to go for something more different with the shape and tried to make the piece more appealing to the eye rather than just your basic pot. I call it Tornado for its resemblance to one.
Artist statement • I decided to put a new spin on your average masquerade mask and incorporated bright colors into this piece as well. I’ve always enjoyed masquerades and added the swirls and dots to make the piece more out of the ordinary. I call it shattered because it was broken down the center.
Artist statement • I’ve always enjoyed nature themed art and wanted my house to be a functioning piece as well. I glazed the inside so the house can also be used as a flower vase. The name of the house came from the moss that often inhabits trees.
Artistic statement • Monkeys have always been one of my favorite animals. I used the gold paint to make the piece more interesting and for it to stand out. I also like to incorporate different designs into most of my pieces like I did here. The name depicts how the monkey looks as if its ready to pounce.
