SEQUENCE Text Structure Text structure -is the way a text is organized such as compare and contrast, sequence, cause and effect Sequential/Chronological text structure /Time Order: is a passage that show that order in which events happen. Example: Here is how a sandwich is made. First you grab two pieces of bread. Then you place a piece of meet between the two slices of bread. Last you spread mustard on the bread. Non- Example: Apples and oranges are both fruits. In contrast they have different types of skin. One is smooth and thin and the other is rough and thick. Signal Words Time Order: First, Then, Next, Finally, Yesterday, Today Time Order Expression: After that, later on , In the Morning
