  2. Goals of Revision • Decrease data element confusion • Increase data reporting consistency • Eliminate duplicative data (AFP/Telework) • Eliminate data elements not useful • Not add any data elements • Decrease paperwork burden

Cross Cutting Changes • Aligned document with MIS rather than NISAT • Overview of Activities page in MIS • Revised Individuals/Entities Taxonomy • Eliminated “other” – must use one of 7 categories – Device Loan, Demo, Training, I&A • Kept “unknown/unable to categorize” –Training, I&A • Added friends & advocates to Family Member category • Clarified IDEA Part C reported with lead agency

Cross Cutting Changes • Clarified AT Taxonomy • Eliminated “other” – must use one of 10 AT categories (SFA, Reuse, Device Loan, Device Demo) • Adapted toys – report in Recreation/Leisure • All orthotics/prosthetics in Mobility • Daily Living includes sleeping, breathing, life support, dentures • Environmental includes adapted farm when not vehicle • Vehicle includes farm vehicles, tractors, etc.

Cross Cutting Changes • Report Title III AFP data EITHER as SFA OR AFP • Added check box to indicate AFP data (must do #7) • Added data element #7 to cover AFP elements missing • Loan Amount Distribution, Highest/Lowest Loan Amount • Classification of Consumers (Gender, Age, Disability Type) • Added second anecdote (must report one for AFP) • Telework – ONLY in separate report (not SFA) • Performance Measures • Restructured tables to emphasize legitimate exclusions

  6. State Financing Changes • Applicant Income Table increments revised • Deleted duplicate Loan Type • Deleted “other” Loan Type • Split Revolving into Low and Preferred Interest • Agrees with AFP table • Clarified reporting of refinance loans

  7. Reuse Changes • Revised terminology, deleted “recycling” • Clarified recipients are unduplicated • To the extent possible • Deleted column asking if device is “included” • Revised Satisfaction to NOT include “sellers” • MIS did not allow in validation rules

Device Loan Changes • Purpose of Loans • Clarified Accommodation • Added “Conduct training, self-education or other professional development activity” • Deleted “other” • Added clarification on length of loans and expertise available to support decision-making • Deleted column asking if device in inventory • Clarified use midpoint if length of loan policy is range, do not include extensions

  9. Device Demo Changes • Added clarification about demo vs. training • Deleted column asking if device in inventory • Required description of “other” in Referral Entity Table

  10. Training Changes • Deleted “other” in Training Topic Table. • Clarified number must be provided in Topic Table in transition, if narrative is provided • Clarified transition data/narrative MUST be provided either in Training or TA.

  11. TA Changes • Clarified distinguishing between TA and I&A • Clarified transition data/narrative MUST be provided either in TA or Training. • Deleted “tag lists”; replaced with table of % by area and existing narrative description.

Public Awareness and I&A Changes Public Awareness • Added blogs/social media to listservs category • Added new category of “other electronic media” • Deleted “other” category • Clarified OMB circular prohibits spending federal dollars on “promotional items” I&A • Deleted “Related Disability Topics” as category

  13. Coordination and Collaboration Entire section deleted. Not required by law. Data was not useful.

  14. State Improvement Outcomes • Limited to 2 MAJOR activities maximum. • Clarified outcomes MUST result in policy, practice or procedure improvement. • Replaced “tag” data elements with one pick list for primary area of impact -- • Education • Employment • Health, Allied Health, Rehabilitation • Community Living • Technology

  15. Leveraged Funding Changes • Added pick list of Fund Sources • Federal • Public/State Agency (contracts and similar) • State Appropriations (directly to the AT Program) • Private • Added descriptions to Instruction Manual • Deleted “Non-AT Act” category • Out of scope for AT Act data reporting

  16. AFP Revisions • Deleted entire optional data section • Not required. • Data not useful. Required Data Elements – Aligned with SFA • Deleted “other” type of loan • Deleted “other” AT type • Applied same revisions to AT Taxonomy
