Preamble This power point presentation contains slides showing the improvement in (a) student performance (b) faculty contributions (c) facilities and technical support (d) academic support units and teaching learning process and (e) Governance, Institutional Support and Financial Resources of Participating Institutions of TEQIP-II during the project period. The above parameters are selected from Evaluation Guidelines of National Board of Accreditation for UG programs-Tier-II.

  3. Student’s Success rate = (No. of students who cleared the programme in the s t i p u l a t e d period of course duration)/(No. of students admitted in the first year and students admitted in that batch via lateral entry)

Mentoring System(how do you mentor students individually?) • Faculty mentors from various premier institutions like IISc, IIT etc do interact with students on a regular basis. • Researchers from institutions like SCTIMST, Amtritaetc … come to the department and find time to interact with students. • Entrepreneurs from elcetronics/ IT industry do come to the college and deliver talks. • General mentoring is happening as part of campus placement training and Management training.

  30. Feedback analysis(how do you do it? Reward/corrective measures) • A class committee is constituted for every class comprising of one external faculty, the class tutor internal faculty and six students of which three are girls. They frequently meet and discuss academic/non academic matters and corrective measures to be taken are identified. Corrective steps taken with the previous class committee is also discussed. • Usual students evaluation and corrective steps are going on in regular basis.

Scope for self learning(Generation of self-learning facilities, and availability of materials for learning beyond syllabus) • Self-learning is promoted in the institute by generating self-learning facilities under various modes. Students are encouraged for self-learning by personal counseling and organizing various contests. • WEB-BASED LEARNING: The institute has created Central internet facility with 100 Mbps leased line and 60 computer terminals facility to promote and motivate students to self-learning. • TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUMS: Organizing annual events like, DISCOVERY, PROFEST, programming and Quiz contests Motivating students to participate in inter-college events for paper presentation and project exhibitions • Problem based learning • Participatory learning • learning through informal discussions

Career Guidance, Placement Unit(Availability of an exclusive Well furnished Seminar Hall, Central Computing Facility, Soft skill development, employability assessment) • The CGPU unit looks after the career development and Placement activities of the institution. It arranges various programmes to prepare the students for facing interview, group discussion and other competitive examinations. The campus interview is also arranged by the CGPU

Co-curricular activities • WECREATE – an open platform for knowledge dissemination at GEC Wayanad WECREATE is an outcome of CONJECT 2011, a three day workshop conducted at GEC Wayanad during February 3-5, 2011, under satellite centre of CERD at GEC Wayanad, and funded by CERD. CONJECT 2011 was the first of its kind where faculty, staff and students from diverse disciplines sat together during the sessions, aimed to discuss various aspects of project realization WECREATE is envisaged as a platform where creative minds can contribute. Anybody who can contribute can be a member of WECREATE. A Google group was created and even persons outside GECW are members of this group. Along with students, faculty and staff of GECW joined hands to disseminate knowledge they have acquired. The programmes under WECREATE are expected to mobilise the activities of Innovation Centre of GEC Wayanad.

Electricity, power backup and telecom 24 Hours un-interrupted power supply is provided by the KSEB A distribution transformer (3 Phase, 400 KVA, 11 KV / 433 V, 21 A / 532 A, ONAN) exclusively for the institute has been installed UPS of required capacity are installed at all departments locally for providing supply to computer systems.

  43. Grievance redressal forums • A. Anti Ragging Committee :- This cell is meant for handling any ragging related activities in the campus and also for conducting awareness programmes against the social evil of ragging. In addition Anti Ragging squad will be active and vigilant during the admission period • Women’s Grievance Redressal Cell :- This cell is meant for handling any grievance of a girl student/women employee in matters related to sexual harassment in the campus. The complainant shall report any act of sexual harassment to the Principal or the Chairperson of the Women’s Grievance Redressal cell. The complaint will be examined by the committee and report presented to College council for action. The cell consists of 4 Executive committee members and 8 working committee members representing different sections of the institution • Students Grievance Redressal cell :- This cell is meant for any grievance of a student related to academic matters(complaints regarding attendance,, duty leave, internal examination valuation and Continuous assessment) and administrative matters (delay in getting university related papers, scholarships, delay in other office related matters etc.) . The students having any grievance in above matters may report the same to the Principal or the Chairperson of the Students Grievance Redressal cell. The complaint will be examined by the committee and report presented to College council for action. • General Grievance Redressal cell:- This Cell is meant for handling general grievance (non-academic) of any student or any grievance not covered under sexual harassment of staff of the institution
