  1. The personnel budget includes wages. Why do you think it varies over the year? • I think it varies because people might get pay rises or more people being employed or people might be leaving or getting the sack • Some days people might need to work over time and they get payed more.

  2. At the end of 2001 there was a scare about the safety of beef. This led to sales falling £100,000 below the budgeted amount in each month. What impact would this have on the performance of the business • I think it could push the business closer to debt or they could not spend as much next month

Suggest some strategies that the business could employ in 2003 to improve financial performanceConsider marketing, production, and personnel.Also, using Wikipedia and other sources, find out what is meant by trade credit, and leasing. How could these help the company?What are the advantages and disadvantages of your suggested strategies? • They could do some less advertising or cheaper advertising, cut wages or fire some people. Advantages is that you spend less money disadvantages are that staff would do less work or the advertising would be attractive.
