  5. Two parts of this course • Part One: Lectures on ETT • Taught by Zhu Xiaoyan, Chen Daoming & Peng Xiaofan; • Takes 8 weeks. • Part Two: Micro-Teaching • Individual preparation; • Team work; • Video-recording (with two instructors for each team).

  6. What you will be doing specifically? • Attending lectures here (full attendance); • Reading some chapters and writing reviews/learning logs out of class; • Making presentations in class; • Watching videos & writing learning logs; • Planning a lesson for your Micro-Teaching (including making PPT); • Having a paper-based test at the end of Part One.

  7. Assessment of the course • attendance and classroom discussion 10% • reading materials and writing learning logs 20% • Lesson planning and micro-teaching 30% • paper-based test 30%

Procedures for each week Pre-reading and post-reading: task-based, case-driven • Videotapes:observing and discussing ---------other teachers’ behaviours • Designing and performing: -------- group presentation • Summarizing and highlighting: --------understanding new ideas • Writing reflective diaries ---------formulating personal teaching concepts
