  2. What is an Essential Question? • It is the step in between your preliminary and extensive notes. • It will guide your extensive research • It will link your 3 assigned or selected topics around a common theme. • The EQ will be the title of your research paper.

  4. Independent Reading • Flip to the following page in your packet or download the attachment from the class website: Creating an Essential Question. • Read the page • Write down any questions you have about the essential question.

  5. Independent Practice • Write your essential question on a piece of loose-leaf paper and turn it in to Mr. Murtagh.
