  3. Verse • This is the part of the song that changes the lyrics but keeps the same melody. • Verses are used to tell most of the story in a song.

  4. Chorus (refrain) • This is the part of the song that is repeated after every verse. • Same words, same tune. • This part of the song defines the theme of the song.

  5. Bridge • This is the part of the song that only happens once; neither words nor tune is repeated. • Usually comes right before the last verse, or sometimes just before the chorus repeats a lot. • Often changes direction of the song, gives new meaning to the chorus
