Tank Based Livelihoods Study • Objectives: • Identifying the broad range of uses and benefits from tanks • Arriving at more realistic benefits (direct and indirect) from the tank • Exploring the scope for building the stakes for other users and their roles and responsibilities in future O&M of the tank through WUA

Tank Based Livelihoods Study • Quantified the benefits from the tank for a period of the past three years • Income from agriculture (quantified based on the gross income i.e including the input costs). Silt application and other heads would form a part of agriculture and need not be dealt separately. • Agricultural labour (quantified based on the number of days x number of people x rate) • Livestock quantified based on the sale of milk (in case of dairy), sale of animals (in case of meat) – this is gross income • Fisheries (quantified based on the gross income from the sale of fish) • Others would include the gross income earned by stakeholders like pot makers, toddy tappers, service providers etc
