Charging technology for E-Mobility • KEI EV charging cables are available in both small cross-sections for AC charging and in large sizes as bulk cable and coiled style for DC charging.
EV Cables are halogen free cables with extruded insulation and sheath having voltage rating 450/750V for flexible applications under severe condition for power supply between electricity supply point or the charging station and the electric vehicle (EV)
The maximum conductor temperature rating for the cables is 90 deg.c • The cables may be • An integral part of the vehicle • A detachable cable assembly with a vehicle connector and ac supply connection to a socket outlet. • Permanently attached to a fixed charging point. • Conductor – Class 5 flexible copper conductor as per EN 60228 • Sizes of cables- Power cables 300/500V – 1.5 sq.mm & 2.5 sq.mm 3core & • Power cables 450/750V – 1.5 sq.mm 3core & 2.5 sq.mm to 35 sq.mm 3,4 &5core • CC/CP cores- 0.5 sq.mm & 1 sq.mm
Insulation – Halogen free compound EVI-2 for power cores and EVI-1 or EVI-2 for CC/CP cores • Core identification – • 3core – Gn/Yellow, Blue & Brown • 4core – Gn/Yellow, Brown, Black & Grey • 5core – Gn/Yellow, Blue, Brown, Black & Grey • Colour of pilot and/or control cores shall be different from power cores. • Sheath – Sheath compound shall be EVM-1 (Z5) or EVM-2 (Z6)
