  2. The Company • The company was set up in October by two first year students :Amy Flynn and Ciara Ford from St. Fintina’s Post Primary School Longwood. Choosing Our Idea • We came together as a group and we started thinking about all the different products we could make or the services we could sell. • We had a lot of different ideas but we eventually decided to make beaded jewellery, because we felt we would be good at this as we are creative and we like making things. • We came up with the name Tic Toc Ltd for our company as our main product was a watch.

  3. Results of Questionnaires • We found from the questionnaires we sent out that beaded jewellery , in particular beaded watches would be a good sellers. We began by producing handmade jewellery for the school open night. We continued to produce jewellery for the Christmas market and for the school show in January. • We sold the jewellery to the teachers in our school, parents at the first year open night, and local residents at the school show. We customised our jewellery and made our jewellery to suit all sizes. We sourced different beads on the internet and continually made different jewellery.

  4. Innovation We produced unique handmade jewellery of good quality and design. Our product worked well because we had a market outside of the school and so this increased our sales. Our product was not seasonal and so we were able to make a continuous profit.

  5. Conclusion • We really enjoyed setting up our mini-company and it was a really good experience for us competing in the county and national finals. • We enjoyed making and selling the jewellery, making posters to advertise our jewellery and setting up stands at our school open night and at our school show. • If we enter the Student Enterprise Awards this year we will pay more attention to the quality of the products we source on the internet. The elastic we bought for the last batch was of an inferior quality and we had some problems with the beaded watches as a result.
