Latin American • Latin America is another name for South America. • A Latin American Ensemble consists of drums and percussion. • The music is very rhythmical and uses off-beat rhythms. • Lots of percussion instruments are used. • Trumpets, guitars, pianos and singers can also be used
Samba • A form of Latin American Music • Origins in Brazil • Very lively and dance-like • Based on ostinatos • Surdo drums, ago go bells, shakers and tambourines are some of the percussion used • Melody is sometimes added.
