  1. 2-4-31Triangles EQ: Why would you need to know different types of triangles? In what profession would you need to know about the properties of different types of triangles? DWP BOP 1. 2.

  2. 60 12 Geometry Rules x = 20, y = 90, z = 70 degrees

  3. Students need: Paper to complete their work on which will be handed in for a grade. 2 triangles to cut Protractor Glue Scissors Isosceles triangle to measure

  4. D90 Triangles Angles Investigation SUM INVESTIGATION EVIDENCE Complete activity on a separate sheet of paper to turn in. Step 1: You will need two triangles that are not congruent. Label the interior angles of each triangle A, B, and C. Step 2: Use a protractor to measure each angle in triangle #1. Find the sum of the three angles. List your measurements in a table.

  5. Step 3: If you triangle is not already cut out, please cut out your triangle. Step 4: Tear the three angles part. Example below: Step 5: Rotate the angles so all vertices line up. Glue your connected angles in onto your paper.

  6. Step 6: Repeat steps 1-5 for your second triangle recording the information in your table. Step 7: Record what you notice about both triangles whenYou line up their angles. Step 9: Choose one of your outcomes and record it on the CLASS DATA SHEET. Step 10: Based on your investigation so far, complete the following statement: The sum of the interior angles of any triangle is_____.

  7. PART 2- In the following part of this investigation you will work with Isosceles triangles. Step 1: Use a protractor to measure the angles of the isosceles triangles on the handout. Label each angle with the measures. Step 2: Draw two isosceles triangles. Measure your angles. Step 3: Complete the statement- In an isosceles triangle, two of the angles will always be ___________________.
