Fair Test of the FRICTION OF Ballson a ramp Aim Prediction Method Results Conclusion
Aim • To see which ball has more friction on a ramp.
Prediction • Jiyong Table tennis ball • Evan Mini tennis ball
Variables • Slope of the ramp • Size • weight • grip • type of the ball • Degrees
Equipment • Ramp • Stopwatch/Shos’ watch • Bench • Balls ; tennis ball, basketball, table tennis ball, rugby ball, squash ball, cricket ball, netball, golf ball and mini tennis ball.
Method • Step 1 Get a ramp and many different balls i.e. table tennis ball and rugby ball etc. • Step 2 Get a stop watch • Step 3 Set the ramp up against a bench on a 50 degree angle. • Step 4 Put the first ball on the top then let it go and time how long it takes to reach the bottom.
Method 2 • Step 5 Do it again and see what time it is with the same ball and if it is a different time then average out the time. • Step 6 Do it with other balls, we used nine • Step 7 Have and see if your prediction is right. FUN
Conclusion • We found out that the table tennis ball was slower which was Jiyong’s prediction so it must mean that Jiyong is a genius and the table tennis ball encounters more friction.
The End Thank Philip for videoing Jiyong & Evan
