3 Key Theological Drivers 3) The Specific Mission of God seen in schools and universities. • God has made us for community and it is here that God most choses to show giving, • God’s desire is for all people to learn, • Teaching is a gift of God, • God delights in engaging in risk and vulnerability

1) Questions to ask on God’s Character within education • 1a) Is it possible for a teacher to be too generous? (How is generosity to be balanced?) • 1b) In the school context, what is the point at which extravagance needs to be measured against frugality? • 1c) Discuss the complexities of affection at school. • 1d) To what extent is God’s sovereignty constrained by human responsibility?
2) Questions to ask on God’s Actionwithin education • 2a) Is there an ‘unforgivable sin’ in education? • 2b) Christians believe that God can redeem all things, but can a school always be redemptive? • 2c) One school of thought describes God’s grace to be ‘irresistible’.
