PSIC Investment Justifications • Tactical Interoperable Solutions/STR IJ • Meets Initiative 3 which calls for the establishment and completion of strategic radio caches • Northern Virginia (NoVA) Data Interoperability Project IJ • This investment deploys advanced technology to create a data exchange hub (DEH) system of systems allowing legacy systems/data stores to communicate/leverage existing investments in systems/applications/people/projects while minimizing capital outlays • Connectivity and Sustainability IJ • Meets Initiative 2 of the Statewide Plan • This investment provides funding to urban areas & neighboring regions of the state by linking disparate systems, connecting localities to the Statewide Agencies Radio System, building out data concepts from the National Capital Regional and Hampton Roads into the central urban area and replacing costly T-1 lines with more affordable solutions.

PSIC Investment Justifications Cont. • National Interoperability Channels IJ • Aligns with Initiative 5 • This investment will provide first responders with access to the National Interoperability Channels • This solution is also compatible with STARS and the Strategic Technology Reserves (radio caches) • Tactical Interoperability Solutions: State Agency Gateways • Aligns with Initiative 2 • This investment will allow for improved communications among state agencies in the event of a terrorist event or natural disaster as well as improved interoperability for localities in the effected area • Tactical Interoperability Solutions: Locality Gateways • Aligns with Initiative 2 • This investment addresses the lack of general interoperability in key areas in the Commonwealth and will also lead to improved communications • Portable and Mobile Devices IJ • Aligns with Initiative 2 • This investment would bring several localities into P25 compliance by upgrading their equipment
