2. Theme • The theme of my book is “One decision can change your life forever.” I chose this theme because in my book the main character Sam decides to save a girl that she used to make fun of and not like. The girl that they used to make fun of decided she didn’t have a reason to live and wanted to get hit by a car but Sam was there and at last minute she decided to push the girl out of the way and take her own life.

3. Character Traits • Sam- I decided what my main characters character traits are because I looked at all the characters that she has a relationship with and by what she says to them and how she acts made me choose these traits. • Selfish- Sam is selfish because she doesn’t care what other people have, she just wants to go to all the stores and buy clothing for herself and do what pleases her. Sam doesn’t care if she hurts other peoples feelings as long as she’s popular. • Caring- Sam is also caring because she lives the day that Juliet dies (the girl Sam made fun of) over and over again and in the end Sam decides that she would rather have herself die than Juliet, she saves Juliet’s life when Juliet didn’t want to be saved. • Insecure- Sam is insecure because when she talks about herself, it’s always negative traits she thinks she has, Sam also puts people down to build herself up and doesn’t believe she can achieve anything important in life.

4. Conflict • The conflict in my book is that Sam always makes fun of people who don’t deserve it and she is ungrateful for what she has. She makes fun of a girl named Juliet and Juliet runs away from her at a party into the street because she doesn’t want to live anymore and gets hit by a truck in front of Sam. Sam starts reliving this day over and over and she can’t figure out why. I think this is the main conflict in my book because this is what the story in my book revolves around.

5. Essential Question How do events in our lives shape us as individuals? • Events in our lives help shape us as individuals because in my book before Juliet gets hit by a truck Sam is a person who only cares about herself and never thinks about how what she says might actually hurt and affect some people. But after Juliet gets hit Sam becomes a person who cares more about people and watches what she says more carefully, Sam becomes so caring and regrets what she says so much that she decides to push Juliet out of the way and get hit by the truck for her on the very last day Sam has to relive this tragic day.

6. My Thinking • My question fits the book good because in my book there are lots of little events that happen and touch the characters lives, and all these little events lead up to a big one that changes Sam and her life forever.

7. My Final Answer Events in our lives shape us as individuals because you never know what might happen that day whether it is good or bad but it could change your life forever. One day you could be a mean person who doesn’t care about anyone like my main character Sam, but then one day a tragic event happens where someone gets hurt and you change your way of thinking and become grateful for what you have just like Sam did. Sam also felt horrible and alone because the girl she would make fun of was now dead so then she ends of reliving that night and getting more and more chances to do the right thing that she should of done in the beginning, save the girl she was mean to. Sam decides to do the right thing the last night she relives the tragic accident so she says goodbye to the people she loves and they don’t know why she is saying it until they see her push the girl out of the way of the truck and see her take her life for the girl so she doesn’t have to feel bad anymore. Sam said she could feel herself fly up into the air and she could sense Gods presence and she was finally at peace with herself and her life. This shows how much Sam grew as a person from going from selfish and uncaring to caring and grateful. This tragic event helped Sam be a better person and helped her shape herself into a better individual.
