  2. What Did you Hope For Tonight? • To get refreshed or edified… • To get some questions answered… • To resolve some struggles… • To learn something new about God… • To meet up with friends… • To get out of here as quickly as possible…

  3. What Paul Has for us Tonight • To participate in the heart of our Creator God. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 1 Corinthians 13:12

What Paul Has for us Tonight • To participate in the heart of our Creator God. • What God looks like deep inside (13:4-8) Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,

What Paul Has for us Tonight • To participate in the heart of our Creator God. • What God looks like deep inside (13:4-8) • Paul’s point to the Corinthians: I don’t just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ. 1 Cor. 10:33-11:1

Be angry, and yetdo not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, Ephesians 4:26 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

Love Defined (13:4-8) Mature Love Immature Demands • Doesn’t Seek its Own • Not Easily Provoked • Forgives • TRIBAL: “me & mine” • Very ANGRY! • Keeps a Record See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; Hebrews 12:15
