What is Crimestoppers? • Only charity in UK helping to solve crimes and find criminals • Runs 24/7 call bureau 0800 555 111 and website www.crimestoppers-uk.org • For people who don't want to go to Police to report crime – they can give us information about crime anonymously which we pass onto Police • Not a replacement for the Police and not for 999 situations • Not part of the Police or a Government department • Not part of Crimewatch • Founded 26 years ago by Lord Ashcroft.
It works! • 1,000+ people contact Crimestoppers every day across the UK, leading to 260 pieces of useful information, meaning that • 14 people are arrested and charged every day across the UK • £6.5k stolen goods are recovered per day, and £25.5k of illegal drugs seized every day! • A person is arrested for murder every eight days across the UK And in Derbyshire……. • 1836 pieces of useful information passed to the police last year • 133 arrests and charges given, all linked to the calls made • 276 positive actions linked to the calls (warrant, crime prevention, ANPR etc) • £39k property recovered and £128k drugs (street value) also recovered

How do I use the online form? • If you use our secure online form, put as much information as you can because we can’t ask you for any more. • We can’t trace your computer or IP address. If you’re worried someone else will find out you can delete the page from your history. • Its as easy as writing an email.
