  2. The Book Of Quotations of Chairman Mao ZeDong is widely known as The Little Red Book This is the most widely printed book in the 20th Century. It was edited by Lin Bao, the Minister of Defence at that time. Do You Know What This Is?? It’s Mao’s Little Red Book

  3. The Little Red Book contains 427 quotes, divided into 33 chapters, each containing Mao’s ideology on a certain topic. Mao’s ideology is known as “Maoism” or officially as “Mao ZeDong Thought”. It was an unofficial requirement for every Chinese citizen to read and carry around.

  4. The Little Red Book was first published by the Chinese government in 1966. During that time, not carrying, reading and quoting the book would have been seen as a sign of difference from Mao’s thoughts, which could lead to punishment or even death.

  5. The Little Red Book was compiled to help the Chinese citizens learn Mao ZeDong’s thoughts more effectively. During the Chinese Cultural Revolution, it was popularly used by the Little Red Guards to weed out intellectuals. The Little Red Book was also studied in schools.

  6. Although the Little Red Book was widely used, Some people claim that the content of it was not significant at all. Mao's quote was not clear most of the time, and after the book became all powerful, people could easily get out of trouble simply by quote from the book to explain their false behaviour.

  7. The concise version Red Book was compiled first in 1966 and published by Foreign Language Publishing House in Beijing. In October it was reprinted. This Red Book contains numerous quotations. There are 31 photos, covering Mao's entire career as a politician

  8. it is a collection of quotations excerpted from Mao's past speeches and publications, which was specifically printed and sold to facilitate easy carrying, but that name is in fact never used and bears no meaning in China.

  9. During the Chinese Cultural Revolution, the little red book had as much or more power than the Bible. However, many of Mao's quotes were not clear, and due to the book`s enormous power, people could get out of trouble by quoting from the book to explain their false behaviour.
