Organizational situation • Estonian Grid Project for hardware and infrastructure: EENet, NICPB, Tallinn Technical University, Tartu University • The Estonian Grid Laboratory for the Grid and applications software will be established • Regular Grid Seminars at the universities • Collaboration: NorduGrid, CERN • http://grid.eenet.ee/

Technical situation • We started in January 2004 • 4 PC clusters, 23 CPU-s (4 new clusters with 60 CPUs are coming) • 12 host and service certificates • 14 user certificates: EENet, NICPB, UT, Tartu Observatory • We are reorganizing Estonian Grid CA and completing CP/CPS • Estonian Grid monitor: http://giis.eenet.ee/monitor

  6. Some differences in Estonia • There are some laws for the electronic identification and commercial CAs in Estonia • We can use Estonian electronic ID-card for Grid user authorisation

  7. Estonian Grid CA • Established: Feb 17, 2004 • Key length: 2048 • Subject: C=EE, O=Grid,CN=Estonian Grid Certification Authority • Root key is valid for 10 years

  8. Estonian Grid CA • CP/CPS: http://grid.eenet.ee/CA • OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.19974.10.1.1.0 • Ideas for CP/CPS were collected from various CA-s: CESNET, CERN, … • Certificates are issued to natural persons, computers, service entities and SubCA-s

  9. Technical details • Certificated issued on unconnected computer – OS from Knoppix Linux CD • OpenSSL and self-made scripts • Secret key and scripts are kept on USB memory stick • Planning to use OpenCA in future
