Interesting Facts • Mau-Glo has been open for over 30 years • (since October 1969) • Mau-Glo Schools is a Not-For-Profit Organization. Founded by Gloria E. Karr. • Mau-Glo is one of the few African American Owned and Founded Schools for Handicapped and Special Needs Children in Chicago • Mau-Glo’s Program has been recognized by community leaders such as Rev. Clay Evans, Rev. Jesse Jackson (when as Operation Push), the Late Mayor Harold Washington (who was also and honorary Board Member), Senator Margaret Smith, and Roland Burris. “I hope someday to be remembered by history as the mayor who cared about people and who was above all fair.”

Our Financial Goal2004-2005 • $250,000 Dollars It’s a lot of money but it does a lot of good and every dollar counts. No donation is too small. Expenses and Improvements • Towards the rent/purchase of our site. • Towards renovations of the building. • Towards new programs like community offerings, a computer room for our students, and more.
